We all like a snack or two sometimes and rely on retailers to provide us with a selection that will excite our taste buds

The confectinery category can however be challenging to merchandise due to the variety of bags, packets and bars so it is essential to get it right.

Carrefour, one of the leading retailers in the Middle East North African region, arrived at this dilemma. They were looking for a solution that would help, not only to organise the products and save shelf space, but also to create a better looking display, improve the customers shopping experience and drive sales.

The Next™ cross bar pusher system, being very versatile to merchandise different pack sizes and shapes, was well suited for this category.

From the initial trial, in one store, to a full store roll out, Carrefour has been able to achieve all their objectives resulting in very positive sales uplift and a display that makes shoppers want to buy more!

For the confectionery, we were able to increase the display by one extra shelf per bay and approximately one extra facing per shelf; the total number of facings increase by 20%. For the Potato chips section, the major achievement was efficiency gains; less number of shelf replenishments per day.
